Emilia Sideswipes Baja / Daniel Fades Away

Emilia hooked eastward during the day today, and put on one last effort at intensification, bringing tropical storm force winds to the tip of Baja California. As she scrapes by, most of the state of Baja California Sur should see sustained winds from 39-70 mph and 2-4 inches of rain. Not a devastating blow, but not a day for a leisurely stroll on the beach.

Daniel is still heading for Hawaii, but he is taking his time, and there won't be much left of him by the time he gets there. You can already barely make out his wispy swirl in the satellite image. Daniel is still technically a tropical depression with 35 mph sustained winds, but should just be a low pressure system with a few rain clouds by the time the center of circulation reaches Hawaii.
